Varicella Zoster Virus (VZV) is a member of the human herpes virus family which causes two distinct clinical manifestations: childhood chickenpox (Varicella) and shingles (Zoster). Varicella is the outcome of the primary infection with VZV. Whereas, Zoster is the result of VZV reactivation from latently infected sensory ganglia which occurs predominantly in aging and immunosuppressed individuals.
Applications: |Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation, Immunohistochemistry, Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Labeled with horseradish peroxidase (HRP). Sodium azide is a potent inhibitor of peroxidase and should not be added to HRP conjugates.
Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.

Corresponding to human VZV Ellen Strain.
Form
Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.2. No preservative added. No stabilizing proteins added. Labeled with horseradish peroxidase (HRP).
Purity
Purified by Protein G affinity chromatography.

Recognizes human VZV. Species Crossreactivity: VZV glycoprotein II
