Found in human serum at 60mg/100ml. This protein is a negative acute-phase reactant. Clinically, concentrations are reduced in cancer patients. AHSG levels are positively correlated with gestational diabetes and negatively correlated with neonatal skeletal development. Studies show AHSG to be present at high concentrations in the peritoneal fluids of patients with endometriosis.||Source:|Alpha 2 HS Glycoprotein, from Human Plasma||Molecular Weight: |~49kD||Storage and Stability:|Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile buffer or ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
