Human Apo-SAA is a 104 amino acid polypeptide that circulates primarily in association with high-density lipoproteins (HDL). The level of Apo-SAA, normally 1-5ug/ml in plasma, increases 500-1000 fold within 24 hours of an inflammatory stimulus and, under these conditions, is the most abundant HDL apo-lipoprotein. The human SAA gene codes for a 122 amino acid polypeptide, which contains an 18 amino acid N-terminal signal sequence.||Recombinant protein corresponding to human Apo-SAA (~11.5kD, 104aa) protein, expressed in and purified from E. coli.||Biological Activity:|Apo-SAA exerts its biological activity in the range 10-50ug/ml for most in vitro applications.||Recommended Dilutions:|Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.||Storage and Stability:|Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile 0.1% acetic acid and aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
