This 11mer peptide myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein ( pMOG) (44–54) represents the core binding epitope for MOG-specific CD8+ T cells. This is the minimal, functionally constant, length of the MOG (35–55) peptide that binds to CD8+ MOG-specific T cells and stimulates T cell proliferation in vitro.||MOG peptide (35-55) is highly encephalitogenic and can induce strong T and B cell responses. A single injection of this peptide produces a relapsing- remitting neurologic disease with extensive plaque-like demyelination.
